Getting to the Hicks building
The conference will take place in Lecture Theatre A of the Hicks building (Hounsfield Rd, Sheffield S3 7RH).
This lecture theatre is inside the lower part of the building, just inside the bottom (south) entrance.
To get to the Hicks building from the train station, the quickest way is to take the tram. From inside the train station, go up onto the concourse, exit from the opposite side to the main station building, and the tram stop is right there. You're already on the correct side of the tracks and you'll need to take the blue line to the stop called "University", shown on the map above. The stops are announced. Tickets are bought on the tram, costing £1.60.
Alternatively, from the train station it's a 20-30 minute walk or a short taxi.
Staying near the Hicks building
The nearest hotel (5 mins walk) is the Rutland. The speakers will be staying here.
